This theatre, in its splendid setting (built as it is against the hill-side) and erected towards the end of the 1st century B.C (before the Arena was built) must have been simply breathtaking sight in Roman times.
The archaeological museum of the Roman Theatre houses important artifacts and finds of the Verona’s Roman past.
Thanks to the traces which gradually rise along the hill-side, the visitor can enjoy an amazing view of the city: on your way up you’ll encounter altars, inscriptions dedicated to the gods, marble decorations and beautiful mosaics from the Roman “Domus” in Verona and its province.
During the summer the theatre is a beautiful open space for music shows.
